Raft Building
Report by Matthew Law and Callum Cousland of the Stag Patrol

The Banchory scouts went to Knockburn loch to raft across it. We
had to use rope, barrels and logs to construct a floating raft. The picture on
the top right shows a completed raft. We had 30 minutes to construct the best
raft possible. Once we had completed the raft we had to paddle across the loch.
There were 12 people to a raft which made it really challenging for us all to
get on the raft without it sinking. It was really important that we spread the
containers evenly apart. This task required a lot of communication and effort from all of the team. The reason that it was such a successful day was because of the effort everybody put in. One of the people who took part was Callum Cousland and he said that ‘I thought that the best part was trying to push each other into the water I also enjoyed building the raft

Summer camp at Meggernie

Meggernie is an outdoor activity centre in Glen Lyon.
We had a Summer camp there for 5 days (4 nights).
There were lots of activities there, but at the price of our blood sucked by midges.
